Companies

What company is Antolin

Antolin is the business brand of a Spanish group supplying vehicle interior components. This profile covers Grupo Antolin-Irausa, S.A.U. and its consolidated companies. The parent was incorporated on 5 November 1987 as Grupo Antolin, S.A. and adopted the Antolin-Irausa name in 1993; its registered office is at Calle Vitoria 307, Burgos. The family’s industrial history predates that legal incorporation. Antolin: original Spanish 2025 consolidated accounts and audit report.

At the end of 2025, Grupo Antolin-Holdco, S.A. owned all shares in the parent. The accounts place ultimate control with Avot Inversiones, S.L., owned by members of the Antolin family. Revenue from companies in this ownership chain or individual subsidiaries is therefore not added again to consolidated turnover. Antolin: original Spanish 2025 consolidated accounts and audit report.

From workshop to vehicle interiors

The company traces its origins to a Burgos workshop run by Avelino Antolin López and his sons Avelino and José in the 1950s and the development of a rubber-metal ball joint. ANSA’s establishment in 1959 and Talleres ARA’s in 1967 marked the transition from steering and suspension components to interior trim and accessories. Its timeline identifies 1985 as a milestone in organizing the holding company; that historical reference does not replace the parent’s incorporation date in the accounts. Antolin history; Antolin: original Spanish 2025 consolidated accounts and audit report.

International expansion accelerated in the late 1980s and the 1990s. Entry into lighting through CML Innovative Technologies and the 2015 acquisition of Magna Interiors broadened its capabilities. The significant shift was from individual parts towards assemblies integrating materials, mechanisms and cabin functions. Antolin history; Antolin: 2025 integrated report.

Products, customers and industrial model

Antolin serves vehicle manufacturers through headliners, cockpit and door systems, and technology solutions. It develops panels, consoles, window regulators, lighting and electronics, then industrializes and supplies components. Antolin is the supplier’s brand: the vehicle brands it supplies are customers, not brands it owns. Antolin: 2025 integrated report.

The 2025 report describes 103 factories and just-in-time supply centers across 24 countries, alongside 26 technical and commercial offices. Projects depend on each vehicle’s lifecycle and the manufacturer’s volumes. Awards for future programs are not recognized revenue and do not guarantee the volume eventually produced. Antolin: 2025 integrated report; Antolin: original Spanish 2025 consolidated accounts and audit report.

The year-end 2025 network included 19 factories and JIT centers in China and 10 in each of Spain, Mexico and the United States. The reported workforce in Spain was 1,890. These describe that industrial network: site counts alone do not measure each market’s economic weight, and the January 2026 Indian disposal means the map must retain its reporting date. Antolin: 2025 integrated report, p. 9.

Financial scale and employment in 2025

Consolidated net turnover was €3,725.566 million in 2025, compared with €4,190.665 million in 2024. The consolidated loss was €81.017 million and the loss attributable to the parent was €89.121 million: the difference reflects €8.104 million of profit attributable to non-controlling interests. These losses use different attribution scopes and are not contradictory figures. Antolin: original Spanish 2025 consolidated accounts and audit report.

Average consolidated headcount was 19,148 and year-end headcount was 18,620, compared with 20,202 and 19,630 in 2024. The report excludes employees of equity-accounted plants from these figures. They are headcounts, not full-time equivalents. The group’s scale is measured using turnover in the accounts, without adding other operating income or work performed on its own assets. Antolin: 2025 integrated report; Antolin: original Spanish 2025 consolidated accounts and audit report.

The India disposal and the 2026 perimeter

On 8 January 2026, the sale of three Indian companies to Shriram Pistons & Rings was completed for €159 million. The accounts describe businesses with more than €120 million in 2025 revenue and over 1,500 employees. Antolin retained its Pune and Hyderabad development centers and its interest in the joint venture with Krishna Maruti Limited. This was not a complete exit from India. Antolin: original Spanish 2025 consolidated accounts and audit report.

The 10 September 2026 announcement reported first-half revenue of €1,733 million and net profit of €56.4 million, including the disposal gain. These are half-year figures for a changed perimeter: they do not replace the 2025 annual accounts or establish that all profit came from ordinary operations. Antolin half-year results, 10 September 2026.

Family ownership and current leadership

Antolin describes itself as wholly family owned, through a sole shareholder whose ownership is divided equally between two family branches. On 25 February 2026 it announced Emma Antolín Granet as Executive Chair and Ernesto Antolín Calzada as Vice Chair. Ernesto Antolín Arribas stepped back from executive duties to focus on institutional and representative work. These are two different people with the same given name and different family names. Antolin: 2025 integrated report; Emma Antolín appointment, 25 February 2026.

Cristina Blanco is listed as CEO in the current management team. The 2026 leadership information updates the 2025 governance snapshot; the earlier year’s organizational chart alone does not establish current leadership. Antolin current management team.

Innovation: materials, lighting and validation

The 2025 report records €97.81 million in R&D&I investment, compared with €118.20 million in 2024. It describes 60 new projects: 25 exploratory projects to test feasibility through demonstrators and 35 at pre-development stage. Simpli-City brings together interior proposals using recycled, recyclable or natural-origin materials. Demonstrators help assess alternatives; they do not establish deployment across all production. Antolin: 2025 integrated report.

In April 2026, Antolin and Gentex announced an agreement to integrate electrochromic dimmable sun visors for the European market. In October, Antolin announced the opening of a global R&D&I center in Kunshan, China, focused on research, engineering, design and validation. These are specific collaboration and capability milestones; the announcements provide no measured reduction in occupational accidents or proof of universal commercial outcomes. Antolin–Gentex agreement, 14 April 2026; Kunshan R&D&I center opening, 20 October 2026.

Materials and environmental targets

The headliner roadmap proposes solvent-free processes, reviews of substances of concern in adhesives, foams and textiles, and validation of alternatives with suppliers. Medium-term work includes more recycled content and single-material structures to facilitate recovery. These are development priorities with different timeframes, not a claim that all current products are recyclable or free of those substances. Antolin: 2025 integrated report.

The report states that SBTi validated targets in 2025 to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 60% and Scope 3 emissions by 35% by 2034, against 2023. Validation concerns targets, not reductions already achieved. From a prevention perspective, material substitution also requires reviewing handling, exposure, process behavior and waste management; an environmental attribute does not replace that assessment. Antolin: 2025 integrated report.

For 2025, the environmental table reports 18,553 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent in Scope 1. Scope 2 is 129,446 tonnes on a market basis and 159,747 on a location basis: these are alternative methods, not amounts to add together. Renewable electricity represented 24.59% of electricity consumption. The energy, water, waste and absolute-emissions perimeter covers sites representing 98.0% of aggregate sales within the financial consolidation scope, including companies sold during the months they belonged to the group. This coverage and the methods define how the results should be read. Antolin: 2025 integrated report, p. 174.

Occupational risks illustrated by the business

Component manufacturing and movement combine processing, assembly and logistics. A preventive reading of this industrial model highlights interactions between people and mobile equipment, machine operations, component handling and repetitive movements. These are matters for assessment, not a finding that every plant has identical exposures or deficiencies. Antolin: 2025 integrated report.

The report identifies a specific chemical issue: compounds containing diisocyanates. It also describes ergonomic workshops and emergency training. Assessment of each job requires checking materials, actual tasks, maintenance, shift organization and existing controls; corporate reporting is a starting point, not an individual site assessment. Antolin: 2025 integrated report.

How prevention is organized

Antolin’s health and safety policy covers employees, contractors and suppliers. Consultation operates through committees with worker and departmental representatives. In 2025, the company reported weekly incident and root-cause reviews, quarterly global meetings, a review of regional organization and the Health & Safety Breakthrough initiative to monitor its management system. Antolin: 2025 integrated report.

The plan launched in 2024 continued with safety conversations, hazard searches, shift-start checks, 5S housekeeping and practical Safety Dojo training spaces. Life Saving Rules and Mandatory Antolin Safe Standards—MASS—are internal rules identified by the company. Their communication and associated training are documented activities, not an independent audit of implementation on every shift. Antolin: 2025 integrated report.

Safety coverage and results: how to read them

In 2025 Antolin reported 60 ISO 45001-certified sites covering 74% of its worldwide workforce, compared with 62 sites and 73% in 2024. It renewed 18 certifications during the year. Coverage is partial: it neither establishes certification of every location nor means that uncertified locations necessarily lack preventive controls. Antolin: 2025 integrated report.

The general dashboard reports a frequency rate of 1.90 versus 2.52 and zero fatal accidents in both years. A separate table by sex reports 47 accidents involving men and 27 involving women in 2025: a calculated total of 74. It excludes commuting accidents and states coverage of 98.46% of year-end headcount, excluding certain new, non-industrial or otherwise out-of-industrial-scope companies. Antolin: 2025 integrated report.

In the table by sex, lost-time accident frequency rates are 1.67 for men and 1.58 for women per million hours, using estimated hours by sex and excluding Grupo Antolin-Navarra’s hours. They are neither added nor equated to the overall 1.90 rate, whose dashboard does not explicitly state the same scaling factor. These limitations prevent a like-for-like comparison with other companies here or interpretation of employee coverage as proven coverage of all contractors. Antolin: 2025 integrated report.

Chemical risk, training and health

Antolin describes 2025 training on handling diisocyanates, hazards, collective protection, personal protective equipment, procedures, hygiene and packaging under REACH requirements. Preventive value depends on connecting knowledge with the actual process and its controls. The existence of a course alone does not demonstrate controlled exposure. Antolin: 2025 integrated report.

The first global Health and Safety Week ran from 28 to 30 April 2025, with more than 300 activities in 19 countries. Activities included drills, first aid and ergonomics and wellbeing workshops. The report also cites health initiatives in Cambrai, Mexico and Germany. This establishes reported activities and participation, not clinical improvements or reductions in illness attributable to those campaigns. Antolin: 2025 integrated report.

Financial pressure and debt negotiations

The original Spanish auditor’s report, signed on 27 April 2026 and included in the 2025 accounts, identifies a material going-concern uncertainty: waivers of certain financial covenants cover 2026, and a later breach could accelerate debt maturities. It states that its opinion is not modified in respect of this matter. The warning should be read alongside later restructuring developments, not converted into a conclusion that liquidation will occur. Antolin: original Spanish 2025 consolidated accounts and audit report.

Falling sales and the 2025 losses form part of the transformation context. In July 2026 the company announced an application for judicial approval of a restructuring plan in Burgos and recognition of those proceedings in the United States under Chapter 15. Reported acceptance for processing is not final approval of the plan or a description of liquidation of all operations. Antolin: original Spanish 2025 consolidated accounts and audit report; Restructuring approval application and Chapter 15 filing, 20 July 2026.

On 14 September, the company reported requesting a temporary suspension of the Spanish proceedings to continue negotiations. On 29 October, it announced an extension of its standstill with the steering committee of 2028 and 2030 noteholders until 25 November 2026, subject to milestones. At that date it was still seeking an agreed recapitalization; the extension is not a completed restructuring. Temporary suspension request, 14 September 2026; Standstill extension, 29 October 2026.

A historical safety case in Alabama

OSHA’s public record identifies a 13 April 2021 accident at Antolin Alabama, LLC in McCalla: a container carried by a forklift fell and struck a worker, who was hospitalized. Inspection 1526600.015 is recorded as closed on 20 July 2022. Following an informal settlement, it shows three remaining serious violations and a $30,000 penalty; a fourth initial citation was deleted. OSHA: Antolin Alabama inspection 1526600.015.

This is a dated, site-specific historical case, not an assessment of the group in 2026. It illustrates the importance of load control and separating pedestrians from mobile equipment. It should not be mixed into 2025 corporate indicators, nor should administrative closure be presented as proof that no later risk existed. OSHA: Antolin Alabama inspection 1526600.015.

What the case contributes to prevention

Antolin offers a case for studying corporate rules alongside different certification coverage and diverse industrial processes. A useful reading separates four levels: commitment, activity, coverage and outcome. Internal rules and workshops belong to the first two; the 74% ISO coverage and indicator definitions delimit the other two. Antolin: 2025 integrated report.

The transferable question is how to check, at the workstation and after product or process changes, that controls work and exposed people can participate. This is an editorial interpretation of the documentation; it does not establish a commercial relationship between Antolin and Sabentis or a general guarantee of safety performance. Frequently asked questions

What does Antolin do?

It designs, develops, industrializes and supplies interiors to vehicle manufacturers: headliners, doors, cockpits, lighting and electronics. Vehicle brands listed as customers are not owned by the group. [1]

Is it a Spanish family business?

Yes. Grupo Antolin-Irausa, S.A.U. is registered in Burgos. At year-end 2025 its sole shareholder was Grupo Antolin-Holdco, with ultimate control through Avot Inversiones, owned by the Antolin family. [1]

What was revenue in the latest full financial year?

It recorded consolidated turnover of €3,725.566 million in 2025. The total loss was €81.017 million and the loss attributable to the parent was €89.121 million. First-half 2026 figures are presented separately. [1] · [2]

Are all its plants ISO 45001 certified?

The 2025 report states that 60 sites were certified, covering 74% of the worldwide workforce. This is not universal group certification. The 98.46% coverage in the accident table by sex is a different measure and must not be confused with ISO coverage. [1]

Did Antolin leave India completely?

No. It sold three companies on 8 January 2026 but retained the Pune and Hyderabad development centers and its joint-venture interest with Krishna Maruti Limited. The disposal affects comparability with 2025. [1]

Is the debt restructuring complete?

The 29 October 2026 announcement extended the standstill with the noteholder steering committee until 25 November, subject to milestones, while talks continued. That source does not establish completion of an agreed recapitalization. [1]
