What eSocial is

eSocial is a Brazilian information system for labour, tax and social-security obligations. Its OSH events communicate information defined by the official schemas. It is not a prevention programme or a repository to which all technical documentation is sent indiscriminately. Data preparation must start from preventive and administrative processes that work before transmission.

Three main OSH events

S-2210 reports occupational accidents; S-2220 records occupational health monitoring information; and S-2240 reports environmental conditions and harmful agents within its scope. Each event has a specific purpose and rules. Declaring information in one must not be assumed to automatically update every other internal enterprise record.

Submission responsibility and technical support

The enterprise can arrange transmission directly or through an authorised representative. This administrative task does not replace professional responsibilities for the technical or medical documents supporting the data. Separating who obtains information, who validates it and who submits it is useful. This prevents the person responsible for transmission from having to improvise a technical conclusion to complete a mandatory field.

Organising the information flow

Identify the correct worker and employment relationship, the occurrence triggering the event, the relevant date and the source of each datum. Check the submission result and retain the receipt. A generated file is not an accepted event. If rejection occurs, the team must distinguish a formatting problem from a discrepancy in the source information.

Job-change example

When a person changes activity, the team can review whether the reportable conditions change and which evidence documents them. Updating an HR record alone does not establish that the OSH information has been updated. A useful control compares the recorded change with the technical action, the corresponding transmission and its result, without duplicating contradictory data.

Limits of automated validation

The system’s technical acceptance does not demonstrate that the content faithfully describes the work or that every NR is met. OSH traceability links the source, review and submission. Events, fields and deadlines must be checked in the current manual, avoiding rules programmed from an old calendar. This entry does not attribute any particular integration or transmission capability to a specific software product.
