Institutional mandate
SINEC’s strategic plan identifies planning and delivery of benefits, contribution management and insurance finances among its responsibilities. It is a social insurance organisation with access governed by the relevant rules. The word integral in its name does not mean that every social protection scheme or pension benefit is administered by the same institution.
Members and family enrolment
The frequently asked questions describe enrolment as administrative registration of organisations, workers and beneficiaries meeting the requirements. Published information includes spouses or partners, children and parents under the applicable conditions. It also distinguishes public and private employers and natural persons; each application requires verification of the category and documentation rather than assuming eligibility from the request alone.
Healthcare agreements
The departmental coverage page publishes providers and agreements outside direct service provision. This arrangement explains the relationship between SINEC and the establishment treating a member. Identity, membership and principal-member status are relevant to organising access. Agreements provide an administrative reference for the particular location and service concerned, rather than proof that every listed facility belongs to SINEC.
Occupational examinations
SINEC describes the pre-employment examination as an assessment relating to fitness for the proposed activity and knowledge of pre-existing health conditions. Employers have responsibilities in this process. The examination provides information for health surveillance, but does not remove the need to control workplace hazards or automatically establish the cause of a later illness.
Prevention and health information
The institution publishes information on the Expanded Programme on Immunization and vaccination arrangements, including coordination with employers. This preventive role complements clinical care and the temporary incapacity procedures described on its portal. General health information should be distinguished from individual clinical recommendations and from administrative recognition of an occupational contingency or benefit.
Frequently asked questions
Does SINEC own every advertised care location?
Not necessarily. It publishes healthcare agreements with other providers. The administering institution and the facility delivering treatment should be distinguished.
Is SINEC a private accident insurer?
It is a short-term social insurance institution. Occupational-risk protection belongs to that framework alongside other healthcare contingencies.
