Information it represents
The Perfil Profissiográfico Previdenciário, PPP, records administrative information and a person’s working and exposure conditions. Its purpose differs from a CV or commercial job description. What matters is the activity performed, the period and the conditions. An identical job title may correspond to different exposures between sites or over time.
Electronic PPP and earlier periods
INSS states that, for periods worked from 1 January 2023, PPP is issued electronically from information declared in eSocial. Earlier periods require consideration of the corresponding documentation. Digitising the format does not erase the previous history. Data migration must therefore preserve relationships between dates, enterprises and documents supporting the declared conditions.
Accessing the document
The official service allows electronic PPP to be viewed and issued through Meu INSS. A person can select the enterprise and obtain the available document. Downloading the file does not guarantee that all information is correct. Where discrepancies exist, identify the affected period and datum so review can be sought through the relevant channels, without unilaterally modifying the original evidence.
What the enterprise should check
A reasonable internal control compares identity, employment relationship, activities and changes in conditions with their sources. It also checks that a person has not been assigned to an environment they never used. Review must be proportionate and respect access permissions. Full histories need not be distributed to people requiring only a date or an update’s status.
Historical consistency example
A person first worked in an exposed operation and later in another with different conditions. Copying the latest job description across the whole period could erase relevant information. Both intervals should be defined and the available support for each retained. This example shows a common documentary problem; it does not determine entitlement to a benefit or replace the competent body’s assessment.
What it does not establish by itself
PPP is not a general safety certification for the site or an automatic guarantee of special retirement benefits. Benefit decisions belong to the applicable procedure. Preventive documentation also serves other purposes. Maintaining faithful, consistent data facilitates their use, but the record does not replace risk assessment, exposure control or the duty to correct working conditions.
