How to request PPE from the worker portal

Simplifying the process of requesting and managing the delivery of personal protective equipment (PPE) is one of Sabentis ‘ advantages. Learn how to request PPE from the employee portal in this article.

Personal protective equipment (PPE) in occupational risk prevention consists of devices, garments, or items designed and used by workers. Its purpose is to protect them against potential risks or hazards present in the work environment. These exposures can cause injuries, illnesses, or damage to health, and to prevent them, it is crucial to have the most appropriate PPE for each task. PPE is necessary when it is not possible to eliminate or adequately control risks through other measures. Furthermore, workers must be trained on its use and purpose so that they can always use it completely and correctly. Proper management of PPE is key within strategies for preventing workplace accidents.
How to request PPE from the Sabentis employee portal
The ‘ Employee Portal ‘ module allows employees to access company information relevant to them. In this profile, they can find, among other data, the risks associated with their work, work instructions, report hazardous situations, notify incidents and accidents, and, of course, request essential equipment such as personal protective equipment (PPE). It is part of an occupational health and safety software that digitizes prevention and provides traceability.
From this portal, employees can provide the company’s Health and Safety Manager —who will then handle the necessary procedures through their own user account—with crucial information for the effectiveness of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as type, quantity, and size. They can even indicate whether it’s a new request, a replacement due to wear and tear, loss, or another reason. All of this is managed through a centralized Occupational Health and Safety tool.
Once the employee has defined the required specifications, they must submit the request so the manager is aware of it. If they wish to amend the request, they can also do so, as it can be canceled while it is still in “New” status. When canceled, the button changes the request status to “Completed” with the attribute “Cancelled by employee.”
